
When working with freezer paper, reverse your pattern. This can be achieved by using a light box.Trace the pattern on to the matte or dull side of the paper.Cut out reversed pattern as illustrated below.

Press the shiny side on to the back of the fabric.

Cut fabric about ¼" away from paper. You can "eyeball" this. Clip into inside corners and around pattern to about 1/8th " to paper. Prepare a small bowl of starch because you're going use your finger to dab the starch. Then press the fabric over the paper, using the tip of the iron and going very slowly.This is not spray starch but a concentrated starch that you can purchase in a plastic bottle. The brand I use is Stay-Flo and purchased in the supermarket. Because it's concentrated, it helps the fabric keep it's shape without the paper pattern and you can still use the pattern over and over again for quite a few times. (Spraying will loosen the paper.) When the starch has dried, remove the paper and applique. Continue this process with all pieces.
