Place needle a short distance from the starting point, without going through the back and draw through.
Give a slight tug until you hear a "pop". That "pop" tells you the knot has been caught in the batting.
To end, make a knot close to the fabric. Insert needle at the ending and exit a short distance away and tug until you hear the "pop".
